The Community Economic Development Project of the DC Bar Pro Bono Program is hosting a series of free webinars for nonprofits on dealing with employees. Each webinar is 60-75 minutes long. The presenters are lawyers from some of the top law firms in DC who specialize in counseling companies on employment law matters.
The next session at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, looks at "Sexual and Other Forms of Harassment." Details below:
This session will help you understand what the different forms that sexual and other harassment can take; what steps your nonprofit should undertake to help prevent claims of harassment; and how your nonprofit should handle any claims that an employee makes.

Join us for the culmination of The Washington Post 2009 Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, a project of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement. The afternoon begins with the popular “Best Practices Workshop.” This is your opportunity to learn the many ideas that make five area organizations “excellent” in this year’s competition.
Organizations presenting their “Best Practices” will include:
- Doorways for Women and Families
- Latin American Youth Center
- MVLE, Inc.
- New Hope Housing
- Washington Office on Latin America
At the conclusion of the workshop, the winner of the 2009 Award will be announced for the first time. Immediately following is a reception honoring the winner and the honorable mention recipients.
